Mahjong tournament in Scottsdale scheduled for Jan. 28

A "Mah Jongg" Party, featuring refreshments and raffle prizes, will be hosted on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 12-4:30 p.m., at the Via Linda Senior Center in Scottsdale.

According to a press release, the American version of the ancient Chinese game will be played, using the 2022 National Mah Jongg League Rules Card. Attendees should bring their own rules cards.

At the event, standard rules will be played, with no extra “nasty” tournament rules. There will be three rounds of three games each for points with rotations to different tables

Registration check-in will begin a 12 p.m., with gameplay scheduled from 12:30-4 p.m. Cost of attendance is $25 per person. To register, call 480-312-5810.

“Come meet & play with new friends from all over Arizona,” the release stated.
