“While rapid population growth in the Northwest Valley has been a boost for the region’s economy it has also created challenges for drivers who travel along the US 60 (Grand Avenue) between Loop 303 and SR 74,” MAG officials stated in a release.
In 2020, the study area had a population of less than 37,000 people. Today, it has reached 50,000. It will grow to 107,000 by 2030 and 242,000 people by 2050.
The segment of US 60 (Grand Avenue) between 163rd Avenue and Loop 303 carries about 60,000 vehicles per day.
