Posted
Lyle Albro, a beloved husband, family man and friend, peacefully passed on June 8 following his birthday celebration. Lyle was born on June 8, 1937, in Portland, Oregon. He was 86 years old.
After graduating from Benson High School, Lyle served as a radioman in the US Army for three years. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science from Portland State College and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for 30 years.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Lyle enjoyed hiking, fishing, golf, puzzles, and watercolor painting. He also enjoyed world travel and road trips.
Lyle’s heart for volunteerism lead him to Honduras twice to assist with disaster relief efforts and to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. During the holidays, he cheerfully greeted shoppers while ringing bells for the Salvation Army.
Lyle will be remembered as a quiet man with a quick wit and gentle smile who enjoyed spending quality time with his wife and family.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Judy, his daughter Leslie, from his first marriage, and his brother Orion and wife Pauline. He is also remembered fondly by his stepdaughter, Theresa, her husband Scott, their sons Tyler and Riley, and their wives Jenna and Jenifer. Additionally, Lyle was blessed with six great-grandchildren.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to Liberty Home Care for their exceptionally loving care and support.
A memorial service will be arranged later. Donations in his honor may be made to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (https://give.ohsufoundation.org) or a charity of your choice.
