Lyle Dean Thomsen, Sun City West, AZ - Lyle was born to Fritz and Berniece Thomsen in Dow City, IA, on October 12, 1941, the second of 10 children.Lyle left Iowa to join the US Navy where he served in the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years of service. After his Naval retirement, Lyle then worked as a US Customs and Border Protection Agent for over 15 years. Upon his final retirement, Lyle settled in Bigfork, MT, during the summer and Sun City West, AZ, during the winter.Lyle was an avid fisherman and could fix or build just about anything. Lyle was brave, fearless and selfless to the very end when he passed away at his home in Sun City, AZ, on December 9, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. Lyle leaves behind his partner, Martha "Martie" Marshall; his daughters, Kirsten Thomsen Patel and Amity Thomsen; granddaughters, Kaitlen Thomsen Rocha and Jazmine Rocha; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best cribbage playing buddy, Bob Collins. Lyle is preceded in death by his wife, Marcia Thomsen. A memorial will take place at Desert Palms Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, Arizona at 10:00 A.M.
