Luke Air Force Base Brig. Gen. Gregory Kreuder hasn't been in the Valley long, but he already knows one thing about the leadership in Surprise.
“I know you love the sound of freedom because I don’t get any complaints from the mayor at any time,” Brig. Gen. Kreuder told the Surprise City Council April 20 in his first appearance before the body. “Overall, we get outstanding support from the city of Surprise.”
Brig. Gen. Kreuder assumed command of the 56th Fighter Wing on May 27, 2020, but because of the COVID pandemic, he hadn’t made it out to a Surprise City Council meeting until now. “Our number one job is to take care of our airmen, so they can get after the mission,” Brig. Gen. Kreuder said. “And a huge part of that is making sure we have a great relationship with the community.”
