DVD’s, puzzles and books kept many Sun Cities residents busy while remaining home throughout the pandemic.
It didn’t help that library services were missed when unavailable at R.H. Johnson Library, 13801 W. Meeker Blvd. and Sun City Library, 16828 N. 99th Ave. Fortunately, pick-up and drive-thru services were made available and both library staff found a way to continue to serve Sun City West and Sun City.
Recently, Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library were awarded a $20,000 donation from Desert Diamond Casino West Valley. Tracy Skousen, R.H. Johnson Library director and Larry Woods, Friends of the R.H. Johnson Library president, accepted the donation March 2 from Treena Parvello, director of government and public relations for the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise.
