Lowell Lindstrom, 80Sun City resident Lowell Elvin Lindstrom died Jan. 6, 2008, surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.Mr. Lindstrom was born May 1, 1927, in Havelock, Iowa, to Elvin and Lottie (Muller) Lindstrom. After graduation in 1945, Lowell served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.He married Roberta Mackie of Laurens, Iowa, March 9, 1952. He retired in 1987 as a federal meat inspector. They lived in Laurens, Spencer, Cherokee and 30 years in Sutherland, Iowa, before moving to Sun City in 1996. For entertainment in retirement, he worked at Ace Hardware as a locksmith.He is survived by his wife; four sons, Michael Lindstrom of El Mirage, Brian (Nanette) Lindstrom of Fulton, Mo., Kent Lindstrom of Phoenix and Kerry (Sandy) Lindstrom of Surprise; two daughters, Linda (Mark) Rehder of Bradenton, Fla., and Sheila (Kevin) Christensen of Peoria; two brothers, Lloyd (Patricia) Lindstrom and Kenneth (Sally) Lindstrom; 12 grandchildren, Jonathan, Whitney, Krista, Kyla, Aric, Daniel, Shawn, Brooke, Kellie, Chad, Lucas and Wesley; one great-grandchild, Tyler; and a host of other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothea; and two infant granddaughters.A family prayer service was conducted Jan. 10.
