Lost Dutchman Days canceled, but annual cowboy worship service Sunday, Feb. 28

A mainstay for Lost Dutchman Days — the cowboy worship service held the last day of the rodeo, on Sunday morning — will be held this year while the rodeo and associated events have been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns.

Steve Edwards will share words of encouragement and quotes from the Bible 10-11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at the rodeo grounds, 1590 E. Lost Dutchman Blvd. in Apache Junction. There will be gospel music provided by The Broken Chair Band.

“As you know ... I have held cowboy-style church for 25 years. When the LDD was canceled, we have had lots of people contact us wanting to know if it is possible to have church,” Mr. Edwards said. “We have been in contact with Apache Junction and have made arrangements to hold the church service Sunday, Feb. 28.”
