Loretta Twila Hopfenspirger

SUN CITY - Loretta Twila Hopfenspirger (nee, Wilson), formerly of Sun City, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Ridgewood Care Center, Racine, Wis. on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was born in Mankato, Minn. on Sept 22, 1922, daughter of the late Olander and Theresia (nee, Reipke) Wilson. On July 12, 1941, in Grand Rapids, Minn., she was united in marriage to the late Robert Neil Hopfenspirger. Twila lived in Sun City for more than 30 years. She enjoyed her golf leagues and was a member of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church. Her family has wonderful memories of spending summers at the Hopfenspirger cottage on Lake Francis in Minn., boating, fishing, and playing games. Her grandchildren also loved visiting their grandparents in sunny Ariz., picking oranges, riding in the golf cart, and playing golf. She will be remembered for her gentle, kind- hearted spirit and positive attitude towards life. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lyden and son-in-law, Philip Lyden, of Racine, Wis.; granddaughters, Tiffany (Kurt Moser) Lyden, of Helena, Mont., Tasha (Don) Moxley, of St. Louis, Mo., Mirsa (Chad) Sullivan, of Janesville, Wis., and Maritha (Daniel) Miller, of Madison, Wis.; and 11 great-grandchildren. Twila is also survived by good friends, Keith and Judy Peterson of Sun City. At Twila's request, there will be no service. Her ashes will be spread by her family members at a personal family service.
