Lore Anna Dengler Reeber, was born in 1933 in Detroit Michigan. Her parents, George and Frida Dengler, migrated to the United States from Germany in the mid 1920's. They became United States citizens and raised their two daughters, Lore and Dorothy, in the Lutheran-German community in the East side of Detroit.Lore was encouraged to apply for admission to the University of Michigan by a chemistry teacher at Denby High School in Detroit Michigan. She was accepted for admission to the University and won a four year tuition paid Regents Alumni Scholarship award. She majored in elementary education and received her bachelor's degree in 1954. She was affiliated with Kappa Delta Sorority.Lore taught in various school districts in her 30 year teaching career: Grosse Pointe, Dearborn, and Livonia Michigan.She earned her Master's Degree in education from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti Michigan.The following resolution was given to Lore at her retirement: Livonia Public Schools, Livonia, Michigan, June 17, 1991Resolution;Whereas, It has been brought to the attention of the Board of Education of the Livonia Public Schools School District that Lore Reeber did retire from the district on June 14, 1991; and Whereas, Lore Reeber has devoted 25.3 years of dedicated loyal and outstanding service to the students of Grant, Hayes, McKinley, Cooper, and Hoover elementary schools as an elementary teacher; and Whereas, she has made many contributions to the educational profession and has touched the lives of countless students during her tenure with the Livonia Public Schools:Now, Therefore Be it Resolved That the Board of Education does hereby congratulate Lore Reeber on her years of service to the educational profession and expresses publicly its sincere appreciation and offers its best wishes for her retirement. This move has brought John and Lore unanticipated joy, friendships, and love as they lived their retirement years in a beautiful community.
