Loop 101 work to affect Tempe area travel beginning Sunday night

Posted

Loop 101 lane-striping work will restrict traffic in the Tempe area overnight from Sunday-Thursday, Feb. 18-22.

Arizona Department of Transportation said drivers should be prepared for:

  • Northbound Loop 101 will be narrowed to one lane or two lanes overnight in areas between Guadalupe Road and Loop 202 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday and Monday nights

Overnight closures of freeway-to-freeway ramps and northbound Loop 101 on- and off-ramps in the area are scheduled on Monday night. Drivers should plan to use alternate routes while ramps are closed.

  • Southbound Loop 101 will be narrowed to one lane or two lanes in areas between Rio Salado Parkway and Elliot Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday nights

Overnight closures of freeway-to-freeway ramps and southbound Loop 101 on- and off-ramps in the area are scheduled on Wednesday night. Drivers should plan to use alternate routes while ramps are closed.

The following overnight restrictions are scheduled along westbound Loop 202 in the Gilbert and Chandler areas:

  • Westbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to one or two lanes in areas between Val Vista Drive and Arizona Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Tuesday nights.

Temporary closures of westbound on- and off-ramps in the area also are possible.
