Lock boxes give emergency access in the Sun Cities

Key access limited

Every minutes counts during an emergency, and a local program through both the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority in Sun City West and Sun City Fire and Medical seeks to give fire personnel access to an individual’s home through an emergency lock box.

According to the Arizona Fire & Medical website, the lock box program is designed to allow personnel to gain faster access when no one is available or physically able to open the door and limits damage to homes and businesses during emergencies.

The box is made of thick steel with a locking faceplate. It is mounted to a home or business in a specific location, so it can easily accessed. The only keys to the lock boxes are controlled by Sun City Fire and Medical or Arizona Fire & Medical, depending on where you live.
