Local semiconductor industry leaders announced a new national partnership Tuesday intended on making the U.S. more competitive in luring foreign manufacturers to build in America.
The partnership, called the National Semiconductor Economic Roadmap, is aimed at ramping up semiconductor competitiveness through “a focus on the workforce, supply chain and infrastructure to support semiconductor research and development, design, manufacturing, and end-applications,” according to a press release.
Companies such as Santa Clara, California-based Intel Corp., Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Netherlands-based NXP Semiconductors, Chandler- based Microchip Technology Inc. and the Semiconductor Industry Association are among the members of the partnership.
