Local OSHA attorney preps for vaccine mandate

A local OSHA attorney has already drafted guidance some Arizona businesses can use following a federal mandate that requires millions of U.S. workers to get vaccinated.

The attorney, Julie Pace, who specializes in areas such as construction law and cases with the Occupation Safety and Health Administration, drafted a legal alert that spells out new COVID-19 requirements for Arizona employers with 100 or more employees.

On Thursday, the Associated Press reported President Joe Biden outlined a new effort to tame the coronavirus by mandating all employers with more than 100 workers require them to be vaccinated or test for the virus weekly, affecting about 80 million Americans. Another 17 million workers at health facilities that receive federal Medicare or Medicaid also will have to be vaccinated, the report said.
