Prices have increased on everyday essentials and some individuals are going without the basic needs, including food.
But a local food pantry in the Sun Cities provides residents with somewhere near to pick up food. Jesse Ramirez, Valley View Community Food Bank, 10771 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City, said more than 100 people come by every Monday to the Valley View Community Food Bank pantry in Sun City West, 14624 W. R.H. Johnson Blvd. The food pantry opened October 2021, with approximately five people picking up food.
“We would always get clients to our Sun City location that come from Sun City West. We would let them know we were also located in Sun City West and that would help them out,” Ramirez explained.
