Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona and Dance Theatre West will perform Storybook Ballet: Sleeping Beauty to the community on Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts, 7380 East 2nd St.
Youth in foster care, ages 8 to 18, will perform alongside Dance Theatre West in this free dance performance, now in its 23rd year.
In addition to the performance, professional teaching artists have spent several weeks with youth from participating partner agencies, exploring Sleeping Beauty themes through visual arts workshops as part of the Free Arts Professional Artist Series Program. Before and after the performance, their final exhibits will be on display in the lobby.
The exhibit gallery will open at 2:00 p.m., followed by the dance performance at 3:00 p.m., and a community art activity at 4:00 p.m.
