Local boy named finalist in national phone protector design contest

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale member Josh G. was named a finalist in Cox Mobile’s nation-wide phone case design contest. His design was recently unveiled to the public in a ceremony in which he received a tech package at more than $500, including an iPad, Apple Pencil, iPad OtterBox case, OtterrBox gift card and Sony Bluetooth headphones.

The grand prize winner, to be announced this spring, will receive a $25,000 scholarship. In addition, the grand prize winner’s Boys & Girls Club will receive a $25,000 Cox Innovation Lab grant to provide local members with the tools and technology they need to succeed.

Later this year, OtterBox, Cox Mobile’s exclusive phone case partner for this campaign, will manufacture and sell a phone case featuring the winning design. It will be available online and in Cox retail stores, with proceeds benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
