Fountain Hills 10-year-old wins world championship of 'Ninja'

Scarlett Gunther is an American Ninja Warrior in the making

Flying through the air, leaping, climbing and contorting her body with the confidence of someone who’s been training her whole life, 10-year-old Scarlett Gunther dominated the 2025 Federation of International Ninja Athletics (FINA) World Championships in Dallas, Texas.

A returning competitor in this elite ninja obstacle league, Gunther had something to prove after a heartbreaking performance in last year’s competition; a misstep on the first obstacle knocked her out early, ending her run for the championship.

“It was hands-down our most difficult parenting moment ever,” Gunther’s mom, Amy said. “But she dusted herself off and she set herself some goals, and she got there this year.”
