Livengood: Our freedoms come with responsibilities

The reason we wear masks is twofold: to protect you from others and to protect others from you.

It’s the same reason we have stop signs at intersections, so that you don’t run into someone else and also that you don’t get run over by an 18-wheeler.

Freedom is the same way, we protect your freedom from other people’s freedom that could harm you. Yes, you are “free” to own a gun; but you can’t just shoot it anywhere you want.

You are free to have an automobile, but you must haves a driver’s license and, in most states, auto insurance as well.

Freedoms have responsibilities!

freedom, covid, COVID-19, vaccination, responsibility
