Littlefield, Whitehead retain Scottsdale City Council seats

2 other candidates move on to general election

Two candidates running for Scottsdale City Council appear to have have earned enough votes to be elected outright following the Aug. 2 primary election, city officials say.

Kathy Littlefield earned 36,879 votes, while Solange Whitehead garnered 31,646 votes. To be elected outright at the primary, a candidate must receive a majority of all the legal votes cast in the election for that candidate’s race, according to the city charter.

"Based on this information, it appears that candidates Kathy Littlefield and Solange Whitehead have been elected at the primary, and that one council seat remains to be filled at the November 2022 General Election," City Clerk Ben Lane said.
