Literacy Phoenix expands reach with new downtown Phoenix location

Literacy Phoenix now has a location in downtown Phoenix.

The nonprofit, formerly Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County, held a ceremonial ribbon cutting and dedication for its new Downtown Learning Center, 1150 E. Jefferson St., on Thursday, May 15.

Literacy Phoenix offers free classes to help adult students learn how to read and speak English, study for GED or U.S. citizenship tests or otherwise learn job skills.
