Litchfield water company reduced service due to scarcity, prompting safety concerns

A water company serving Litchfield Park and parts of Goodyear lowered water pressure due to scarcity, prompting fire safety concerns from Litchfield Park, according to a letter filed by the company with the Arizona Corporation Commission.

The Arizona Corporation Commission opened an investigation into Liberty Utilities and its low water pressure output for residents in Litchfield Park and the Goodyear area on Aug. 22.

The commission, responsible for regulating public utility companies, sent an inquiry letter to Liberty Utilities. The investigation comes after Liberty Utilities contacted customers in its service territory and told them to expect low water pressure because of "continued hot and dry weather."
