Litchfield Park’s Austin “AJ” Jones is spending the next two weeks in Saudi Arabia driving for the Monster Energy Can-Am team in Dakar 2021, billed as one of the toughest off-road events in the world.
For 43 years, the 14-day rally has taken amateur and professional drivers from across the world through terrain that includes sand dunes, mud, grass and rocks.
At 24, Mr. Jones is no stranger to off-road racing. His father, Jesse, has been competing in desert events for 20 years and runs the Jones Motorsport team.
