The Litchfield Park City Council will hold a public hearing and consider an ordinance regulating recreational marijuana use and establishments during its regular virtual meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17.
The meeting is scheduled to follow a special 6 p.m. meeting in which the council will interview candidates for city boards and commissions. In October 2020, the council directed city staff to prepare an ordinance amending the city’s zoning code to regulate recreational marijuana pursuant to Proposition 2017, the Smart and Safe Arizona Act. In November, voters approved the proposition, legalizing the sale, possession and use of recreational marijuana by adults 21 and older.
