Litchfield Park council eyes switching police services from MCSO to Avondale

The Litchfield Park City Council will meet in virtual special session Wednesday, April 7, to consider terminating its police services contract with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and directing staff to begin negotiations with the city of Avondale to provide those services beginning July 1.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Residents may tune in via Zoom or YouTube, or call in by dialing 699-900-6833 and entering meeting ID 873 2558 0043.

In 2012, the city entered into a 10-year police services contract with MCSO, with an option to renew each year.
