Litchfield Elementary School District finalizes 2021-22 COVID readiness plan

The plan comes a week before classes begin and amid conflicting guidance from the CDC and mandate from the legislature

Board members of the Litchfield Elementary School District finalized their COVID-19 readiness plan Tuesday amid conflicting guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Arizona Legislature, one week before students return to in-person classes.

In June, the Republican-led Arizona Legislature adopted a measure prohibiting public and charter schools from requiring students to mask on campus, and on Tuesday, Gov. Ducey announced that despite updated mask guidance, he will not reverse course.
