Litchfield District refers teacher to investigators for ‘inappropriate touching’ of female students

The Litchfield Elementary School District reported an incident in early February to the Arizona State Board of Education of allegations that a substitute teacher inappropriately touched female students.

According to a May 20 state board of education  public meeting agenda item, on Feb. 6 the Litchfield Elementary School District’s human resources rep, Veranna Bailey, notified a state investigation unit of allegations of “unprofessional conduct, inappropriate touching of female students.”

According to the state’s agenda, on Feb. 23, educator Joseph Leonetti voluntarily surrendered his Arizona teaching certificates amid the allegations.
