Lindsay Road interchange on Loop 202 set for Sept. 15 ribbon-cutting

On- and off-ramps open to traffic after ceremony

Gilbert’s largest north-south street without a freeway interchange is set to gain access to the Loop 202-Santan Freeway starting Sept. 15.

That is when a ribbon-cutting is planned for the Lindsay Road interchange, built to relieve congestion at nearby exits and accommodate an anticipated uptick in commuter traffic.

The $18.15 million interchange construction project will provide another outlet to Gilbert’s growing Central Business District. Town officials’ data projections showed the employment base there to grow more than 150 percent from 2018-2030.
