Posted
Linda Lee DiVito, born Linda Lee Campbell, 74, beloved mother, grandmother, & wife returned to her heavenly home on March 31, 2023 after a seven-year illness.
Linda was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 2, 1948. Linda attended Eastern Michigan University, where she received her Bachelors' Degree in Education. She married Larry Capretta and moved to Denver Colorado to start a family, where she gave birth to her daughters Kimberly & Lisa.
Linda moved to Paradise Valley in 1976, where she patiently cared for her family and she continued her long term residence in Scottsdale until her final stages of her disease. Linda soon remarried in 1986 to local Real Estate Developer, Vince Divito, at her favorite spot in Laguna Beach California. She joined her husband Vince in her Real Estate career, and eventually returned to education as a teacher at Cherokee Elementary School in her final years as an educator. It is during this time she continued her education to achieve her Master’s Degree, while maintaining her position at Cherokee and being a devoted wife & mother.
Linda was known for her beauty inside and out, what she referred to as her “English” sense of humor, as well as her infectious smile that lit up any room she entered. It wasn’t until August 10th 2006 that Linda experienced one of the greatest joys of her life, the birth of her granddaughter Stella Theadora Czaja. Linda was a wonderful grandmother, aka GiGi, and made sure to create many special memories with Stella, the most memorable being Linda reading The Velveteen Rabbit to her before bedtime.
Linda’s life was filled with lots of wonderful adventures, travel, her love of flowers, golf and laughter. Even through her cognitive decline, she was funny, kind, gracious and loving. Prior to her diagnosis, she was able to see her oldest daughter Kimberly marry her husband Steve Bauman in September 2016. So many special moments were shared as the family collectively cared for her through the 7 years of her illness. No matter what her family faced, Linda was always there for them, never stopped believing in them, never judged them and was always their cheerleader. Her love was never ending and she poured her love into every person she met and always tried to make each and every holiday and celebration perfect.
Mom, you were Lisa and I’s best friend and although you may not be present in the physical world, you will live forever in our hearts and the hearts you touched throughout your time here. We love you so very much and we know you are with us always.
Linda was preceded in death by her father Alexander Campbell, her mother, Marguerite Rogers Campbell and her siblings, Larry Campbell, Don Campbell and Adonis McGlassen. Linda is survived by her husband Vince Divito, her oldest daughter Kimberly Bauman and son-in-law Steve, her youngest daughter Lisa Czaja, her beloved granddaughter Stella Czaja and her brother Alex Campbell.
