Lights of Love will be presented for the fourth time in December at the Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery in Mesa.

The event, which includes a holiday lights and decorations drive-thru, a live nativity scene and more, will take place 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the cemetery, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa.

“Experiencing the loss of someone we love can be indescribable,” Elisa Krcilek, vice president of Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, said.

"Keeping that love alive gives us hope, peace, and light. It is Mountain View's hope to give families the opportunity to remember those they have lost and know that their love is still present.”

Hundreds of people are expected to attend, according to event organizers, and they will see thousands of lights and decorations, hear music and enjoy hot chocolate.

“Attendees can also participate in the meaningful act of placing their loved one's name on a heart and adding it to the commemorative shadow box,” a release announcing the event stated. The option to light a candle, which will remain lit throughout the night in honor of a loved one, is available, according to the release.

"Lights of Love started during COVID, and this marks the fourth consecutive year it's happening because it has become so popular. We are truly touched by the community's embrace of this event, and we look forward to providing a source of solace and joy during the holiday season,” Krcilek said.
