Businesses next to light rail construction in Phoenix are now eligible for direct payments from the city and could start receiving payments as early as this week.
When new light rail construction comes through an area of Phoenix, the city has long lent its resources to those affected businesses to help offset the disruption caused by construction.
Help often comes in the form of signs or banners notifying the public the business is open during construction and directing people around construction to the business’s entrance or marketing help to make sure business doesn’t dip during construction.
