The importance of having a community library has never shined brighter than during the height of the pandemic.
While closures were in place and people were forced to stay home, grabbing last minute items from the library in March 2020 was something many people in Sun City West took advantage of. As restrictions lifted, using the online Libby Application, residents could gain access to audio books and reserve DVDs, puzzles and books through a drive-thru service.
Now, some of those same systems are in place, which allow winter visitors to access the library while on the road or away for the summer. In addition, the Data Resource Center inside the library was a major resource, including booking appointments for vaccinations and service continues for residents with Microsoft Office abilities, including email, scanning and printing.
