INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
The Phoenix Public Library Foundation and the Arizona Lottery are sponsoring a program to help Valley students apply for college scholarships.
The College Depot Scholarship Expo will be 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.
The program is being aided with $50,000 from the lottery’s Gives Back program, providing students the opportunity to complete scholarship applications for college and learn more about what is available.
The Gives Back money will be used to purchase laptops and internet connection equipment for participants in the Graduating Ready, Independent and Tenacious program, according to a release.
College Depot at Phoenix Public Library is a free resource for teenagers, parents/guardians and adults exploring continuing education.
Located at Burton Barr Central Library, College Depot has provided more than 25,000 people with college planning services, according to officials. For more: phoenixpubliclibrary.org/collegedepot.
