A summer reading program designed to encourage all ages to crack open a book and read is being held by Maricopa County and Mesa public libraries, giving one point for every minute spent reading for a chance at prizes including a free pizza.
Readers up to age 11 can earn a free personal pan pizza from Peter Piper Pizza, a free kids meal from Rubio’s and all participants will earn a free lemonade from Raising Cane’s when they reach 500 points, while supplies last. At 1,000 points, participants of all ages earn a free book of their choosing.
