Few things are perfect, but for Liberty senior Ryan Denhof and junior Henry "Hank" Dilwoth, Saturday's state Division I cross country final was close enough.
Both ran the type of race they envisioned at Cave Creek Golf Course when talking about it earlier in the week. They even finished in the order both expected.
It has been Denhof's season, and he cemented it Nov. 4 by grabbing control of the race at the midway mak and never letting go. He won going away in 15:46.30 while Dilworth was not challenged for second in 15:54.50.
