Liberty Elementary District approves new assistant superintendent

Mohorne described herself as a transformative leader and champion for equity

The Liberty Elementary School District governing board confirmed staff’s recommendation to hire Stephanie Mohorne as their new assistant superintendent of support services Monday.

Mohorne has five years of experience as an associate superintendent and was recently a finalist for the interim superintendent position at Liberty. Her contract will begin July 1.

Mohorne has spent the past nine years at Waterloo Community School District in Iowa, which has approximately 11,000 students. As the associate superintendent, she was responsible for budgeting and overseeing various programs, including ELL, special education, and talented and gifted. She was also the chief officer overseeing everything curriculum and instruction for preschool to 12th grade.
