Liberty defense kick starts offensive machine

North Peoria powerhouse blanks Salpointe for Homecoming

Whatever chance Tucson Salpointe Catholic had of disrupting the precision Liberty football machine went by the wayside early.

Lancers junior linebacker Nathan Spivey snagged a tipped Navi Bruzon pass on the Lions' third play of the game. He returned it to the Liberty 23 and the visitors had a chance to be the first Arizona team to lead the Peoria powerhouse.

Following a Salpointe first down, Liberty senior linebacker Zane Tallman chased junior quarterback Adan Koch-Rodriguez down and the knocked the ball out of his hands. His teammates fell on the ball at the Lions' 19.
