Levi Lacy, 89Sun City resident Levi Wm. "Joe" Lacy died peacefully March 24, 2008.A memorial service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 4 at Menke Funeral Home Chapel, 12420 N. 103rd Ave.Mr. Lacy was born Nov. 23, 1918 in Franklin, Ohio, and attended Franklin High School. After graduation he worked at various jobs before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 27, 1944 to Aug. 15, 1945. Following an honorable discharge, he found employment with the U.S. Postal Service in Phoenix and moved to the Valley with his wife Janette and daughter Marilyn in 1957. He worked as a mail carrier until his retirement in 1979.He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Lacy, Frank Lacy, Russell Lacy and Alfred Lacy; one sister, Jane Haun; and his only child, Marilyn Kay Rapanut. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Janette G. Lacy; son-in-law, Agustine "Augie" Rapanut; and grandsons, Kory and Bradley Rapanut.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the Masonic Lodge, 18810 N. 107th Ave., Sun City, AZ 85373.
