Lesko’s seat in CD8 now up for grabs

Hamadeh first Republican candidate to announce candidacy

Arizona Rep. Debbie Lesko announced Tuesday she would not seek reelection in 2024, which has raised questions as to who might fill that seat.

The 2022 Republican nominee for Arizona Attorney General Abraham Hamadeh has already tossed his hat into the race, but experts say more candidates could follow.

Lesko, a Republican, represents Congressional District 8, which has been reliably red over the years, serving portions of the north and west Valley including Sun City, Sun City West, Peoria, Glendale and Phoenix.
