Lesko office recognizes Surprise nonprofit with award

Your Sure Foundation awarded for helping families find stability

Surprise-based Your Sure Foundation has received congressional recognition.

The office of Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Surprise) recently recognized Your Sure Foundation, a nonprofit that advocates financial education to the public geared towards responsible credit management, budgeting, housing, building a lasting legacy and community.

Monica Yelin, who is Lesko’s outreach director, presented Executive Cirector Mark Savage and his wife, Donna, with a certificate to commorate the award. Mayor Skip Hall was also in attendance.

The mission of Your Sure Foundation is to equip individuals and families with financial life skills to be prepared to navigate the world around them, while strengthening character through developing their integrity, a passion to be their best and a belief in themselves.

In fiscal year 2021-2022, Your Sure Foundation was able to assist 178 families and individuals in achieving financial stability. This year, Your Sure Foundation is on track to empower more than 400 individuals and families through personalized counseling, hosting more than 22 workshops along with two six-week summer programs for youth. Your Sure Foundation’s housing counseling program resulted in the preservation/acquisition of nine homes.

“As YSF grows and expands to help more people in our community, we face specific challenges,” Mark Savage said. “To overcome these challenges, we are seeking to expand our counselor team to meet the needs of our clients while expanding our community sponsors and donors.”

To engage as a community sponsor Your Sure Foundation officials said it would love to hear from the community or businesses to partner together. The community can also donate to Your Sure Foundation directly with a tax-deductible donation at yoursurefoundation.org/get-involved.

Savage founded Your Sure Foundation, a 501(c)(3), in 2011 to educate young adults with financial life skills. He and his wife, Donna, have helped many to successfully navigate financial management towards home ownership by volunteering their time.
