Security technology maker Axon’s plans to build a world headquarters campus in north Scottsdale took a large step forward Thursday.
The Arizona House of Representatives approved Senate Bill 1543, which would allow the company to build the controversial 1,895 apartment portion of the campus, by a 40-19 vote.
Specifically, the bill would require cities ranging in population of 200,000 to 500,000 to allow hotels and multi-family housing in areas zoned for light industrial use without a zoning hearing as long as it is located on a property that would contain an international headquarters.
