Despite previous concerns, the signing into law of House Bill 2720 will not affect the Town of Paradise Valley.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs signed the bill May 21, allowing the development of at least one attached and one free-standing accessory dwelling unit or casita on single-family lots in larger cities.
The population threshold in the bill remained 75,000 even though some parties asked to remove it, so the Town of Paradise Valley is not required to adhere to it, nor are Sun City, Fountain Hills, Apache Junction or Litchfield Park among others.
