Lee D. Palmer

Lee of Sun City West, AZ, died May 2, 2025.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lori P. Vecchiarelli and her wife Amber Vecchiarelli both of Waterbury, VT, and Kellt L. Palmer of N. Thetford, VT and his longtime partner Betty Macy of Sun City West, AZ, and her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Louise Macy also of Sun City West, AZ.
Lee was predeceased by his wife of 44 years Sylvia N. Palmer, and all of his siblings; Gardner Palmer, David Palmer, and Jean Young.
Lee was born on March 28, 1940 to his parents Ray Henry Palmer and Elizabeth Hawley Palmer.
Lee graduated from Thetford Academy 1958 where he had met Sylvia Nelson class of 1961, and in June of ‘61 they were married. Lee was in the U.S. Army Reserves for many years where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Lee begin his trucking career in the early 1970’s driving the mail truck. In 1972 Lee obtained a full time unionized driver position with St. Johnsbury Trucking. He was very proud of being a Teamster.
Lee and Sylvia retired to Sun City West, AZ in 2000, where Sylvia lost her long battle with cancer in 2006.
Later that year he met his longtime partner Betty Macy of W. Lebanon, NH.
Lee belonged to many clubs in SCW, president of the metal club, charter member of the ARC club, rock hounds, lapidary, computer, model A, and CARS.
Lee died peacefully with his family at his side.
There will be no service, a graveside committal will be held at a later date.
