Canine Safety Day, hosted with the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy and Scottsdale Fire Department, focuses on essential pet safety for trail adventures with four-legged friends, according to a press release.
Dogs experience desert temperatures differently than humans – this event will help you learn how to recognize signs of heat exhaustion in your pet, and what to do in case of a heat-related emergency. With on-site experts ready to help, you’ll gain practical knowledge to make every hike with your pup a safe and enjoyable one.
The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5, at multiple trailheads: Lost Dog, Gateway, Pima Dynamite, Brown’s Ranch, and Tom’s Thumb.
