Kyrene Governing Board received an update at its latest meeting from three state legislators representing Kyrene on education issues being discussed in the current legislative session.
Arizona Sen. Mitzi Epstein, D-Tempe, and Arizona House Reps. Patty Contreras, D-Phoenix, and Stacey Travers, D-Tempe, of Legislative District 12 paid a visit to the Kyrene School District Governing Board on Feb. 28 to discuss with the board members.
Kyrene School District falls into Legislative District 12, which also includes parts of Chandler, Mesa, Tempe and Gilbert school districts. Speaking of the legislators’ connections, Rep. Contreras has been an advocate for education in Kyrene while Sen. Epstein previously served on the governing board and Sen. Travers is a district mother.
