Law enforcement plans on ramping up DUI checkpoints over holidays

If you celebrate, make a plan this holiday season to get home safe as state and local officials are planning more aggressive driving under the influence enforcement efforts.

On Thursday, a DUI taskforce is expected to be in Scottsdale to kick off a span where law enforcement officers will conduct multiple patrols to help keep residents safe, said Jesse Torrez, director of the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Officers are expected to conduct DUI checkpoints Thursday through Sunday this week in an effort to keep impaired drivers off Valley roadways.
