Phoenix police have not yet released names of the people involved in a shooting at a restaurant at Sky Harbor restaurant on Wednesday night.
About 9:41 p.m. on Dec. 25, three people were shot Christmas night at a Terminal 4 restaurant at Sky Harbor Airport, authorities said.
The incident occurred Christmas night and temporarily closed a security checkpoint and the Phoenix Sky Train was paused, according to officials.
Police arrived at the scene of the shooting just outside of security checkpoints in Terminal 4 to find a woman and two men with gunshot wounds.
The three victims were taken to hospitals with the woman’s wounds considered to be life threatening. The men were listed as stable with non-life-threatening injuries.
In addition, a man and girl were detained in the parking garage. The man had at least “one cut/stab” wound and was in stable condition at a hospital, police said.
Preliminary information suggests a group of people who knew each other got in a fight about 9:40 p.m. Dec. 25, and one of them pulled out a handgun, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
No one else was injured.
Donna Rossi, Phoenix police spokeswoman, said "airport operations has resumed" to normal business as of 11:45 p.m. on Dec. 25.
"Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened earlier this evening at Sky Harbor International Airport," Rossi said late Wednesday night. "The Airport operations has resumed to normal business while investigators are responding to take lead."
