Posted
Laura Ashley Willard Riley was born January 13, 1989 in Farmington, CT. She was born with various physical health issues, most importantly the partial use of only one kidney. Her family returned to Apache Junction where she lived all her life. Her Aunt Sherry was there a year after high school graduation to gift her a new kidney in 2008.This kidney lasted 5 years. Dialysis began at that time and continued as a nightly routine through the remainder of her life. Laura was one of the strongest and most courageous young women you would ever meet. Her goal was to live a normal life. A very happy day in achieving that goal occurred on April 13, 2012 when she married the love of her life, Travis Riley. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her wonderful family and holding down a full-time job. Over the past 3 years she experienced excessive health problems from COVID, Valley Fever, and heart problems. Ongoing dialysis and health issues were too much of a strain on her, resulting in a final massive heart attack which led to her final demise on December 27, 2022. Laura leaves behind husband, Travis Riley; her "bonus daughter," Faith Riley; her Mother, Michelle Berrieault and "bonus Dad", Michael Berrieault, of Apache Junction, AZ; her Father, Aaron Willard and "bonus Mom" Christine Small of Glastonbury, CT; her brother, Josh Willard, his fiance Missy Haagensen of Windham, Ct; her brother Devan Daymon of Gold Canyon, AZ; her grandparents Jerry and Laura Lytle of Apache Junction, AZ; her aunt, Sherry Smith Robertson of Gold Canyon, AZ; her cousin Rudy Robertson; her aunt Holly Willard Bennett and uncle William Willard of CT. She also leaves behind many other relatives and special friends. She was laid to rest in Green Acres in Scottsdale, AZ on January 5, 2023. Donations in her memory can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Arizona-Superstition Mountain Branch.
