Largest affordable multifamily development breaks ground in Goodyear

Posted

Affordable housing developer Dominium broke ground on 657 units of both family and senior affordable housing in Goodyear on Oct. 25.

The project is considered Arizona’s largest affordable multifamily new construction development in the state, according to the developer.

The two adjacent Goodyear properties, 492,000-square-foot Estrella Springs, and 247,000-square-foot Suncrest Vista, are at 16895 W. Van Buren St.

Estrella Springs will bring 396 units of affordable apartment homes for families, and Suncrest Vista will bring 261 units of affordable senior apartment homes in the winter of 2025.

To qualify for this housing, residents must earn less than 60% of the area median income.

Estrella Springs will be 12 one-bedroom, 192 two-bedroom and 192 three-bedroom units. Suncrest Vista will feature 76 one-bedroom, 153 two-bedroom and 32 three-bedroom units.  Each apartment at Estrella Springs and Suncrest Vista will include amenities such as a walk-in closet, granite countertops, in-home washer and dryer, modern kitchens and flooring and a covered balcony.

W.D. Construction, a joint venture between Weis Builders and Dominium Construction and Architectural Services, will construct this project.

Dominium and its partners are investing more than $1 billion in the state to develop affordable housing for essential workers and seniors, amid the housing crisis. Dominium currently has over 1,500 affordable homes under construction across the Valley and an additional 1,500 units proposed in the next few years.
