A May land auction is expected to help shape the local landscape of what the semiconductor industry will look like in north Phoenix for decades to come.
The land — about 2,340 acres — is near Interstate 17 and Loop 303 and generally located west, north and east of where Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s Arizona facility is being built, according to Lynn Córdova, spokeswoman for the Arizona State Land Department.
“Our applicant is Biscuit Flats Dev LLC, and that entity is controlled by the Mack Real Estate Group,” Córdova said. “There is only one applicant for any auction, but others may come to the auction and bid in accordance with the instructions contained in our auction notice.”
